ROTARY CLUB OF AMUWO INSTALLS 36TH PRESIDENT IN THE PERSON OF ROTARIAN GONI ZARKARI phf

Amuwo community in Festac area of Lagos graced the occasion of Rotary Club of Amuwo as RTN. Goni Zakari emerges as the 36TH president after the retirement of the past president in the person of RTN. Austin Njoku.

RTN.Goni Zakari, the new 36TH president of Rotary Club of Amuwo, A maiduguri born Philanthropist, a humanitarin, a seasoned maritime administrator and an award winning strategist. 

He was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Goni Abdu in 11th July 1978. He studied in Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge, UK.

He was honoured with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science . 

Afterwards he pursued his master's degree at  the prestigious university of London where he studied politics and international relation

It was his upbringing that cultured RTN. Goni Zakari to be a voice to the voiceless.

 He joined the Rotary Club of Amuwo because he is interested in innovations that improve society by empowering the less privileged. Since joining, he has assisted many people and changed many lives.

It was a joy moment and a remarkable event as members of Rotary club both in Amuwo and other branches in Lagos attended the ceremony. 

Past presidents, fellow comrades, friends and well wishers were all present.

 Among the Rotary Club elites who were present are:

• Chairman installation planning committee RTN. Chief Angel Ezechukwuchibere na Akpo.

•  RTN. Austin Njoku,the Immediate Past President Rotary Club of Amuwo.

• The P.R.O of Rotary Club of Amuwo, RTN Ikenna Oguejiofor (Ike the 3RD).

• RTN Francis Akingbade Lawson.

• Mr Dada Joseph Olugbenga who is the guest speaker.

• RTN Chinelo Elenwa Club admin, chairperson.

• And uncountable special others.

The occasion was graced with special awards to their distinguished guests and awardees in the name of; 

• ALH. Hamisu Gambo, the Deputy Director Human Resource of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) 

• Bamidele Onalaja Aks, he is the current Chairman of Real Estate Developers Lagos Chapter and Immedite Past President of Rotary Club Maryland, Chief Executive Officer of Revolution Property Development. 

•Jamil Mohammed Abubakar, son of Nigerian Inspector General of Police and married to Nigerian billionaire daughter Aliko Dangote 

•And host of others.

RTN. Goni Zakari when interviewed, said that he will carry his humanitarian work to the highest level as the new president, as much is expected of him. He promised to deliver, and move the club forward with all his strength by the help of God.

RTN. Ikenna Oguejiofor the P.R.O  describes Goni Zakari as a man of his words, a great thinker who cares about others. RTN. Ikenna Oguejiofor believes that Goni Zakari will take Rotary Club of Amuwo to the highest level with the power vested on him as the club president.

The Immediate Past President, describes Goni Zakari as a defender of oppressed, a zealous humanitarian who has concerns for the less privileged. 

 He trust that Goni Zakari will do wonderfully well

RTN. Goni Zakari have received numerous awards both locally and internationally.

He had recent ones bestowed on him from Rotary Clubs in Germany, France, Dubai, Ethiopia and Kenya. And so many others which includes: 

• Tiv Youth Initiative Kurutyaubem(Warrior of Peace)

• National youth Council of Nigeria as Fellow of Nigeria Youth

• National Association of University Students (NAUS) as an Icon of Examplary Leadership

• Ajegunle Business School as Philanthropic Man of The Year.

• 15 years Meritorious Long Service Award by Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and many others.
