Hon Hakeem Seeks To Work With The People Of Lagos To Achieve A Safe City
Honorable Hakeem .O. Dickson held a briefing with the press on the 15th of November, giving a glimpse of himself and the agenda he has for Lagos.
Hon. Hakeem Olaogun Onikoyi Dickson, who is Former Chairman, Surulere Local Government, is the governorship candidate of the Lagos State chapter of Accord Party (AP). His running mate Mrs Mojisola Afolayan, as deputy governor.
He mentioned that, the 1999 vision for lagos was to make lagos a mega city. The pioneers of decision did not foresee the aftermath of the mega City.
The resultant of a megacity are overpopulation, incessant crime, environmental pollution, insufficient employment opportunities, underfunded medical care system and so on.

HOD said, he seeks to ensure is that Lagos becomes a livable, safe and a sustainable city; and to provide realistic solutions to the defect that comes with a mega city.
He continued that, he and his running mate will ensure to hand over the ruling hand to the youth to make Lagos a smart City. They look forward to changing the thinking and mindset of every individual in Lagos State to reason with them and work together to achieve a safe City.
Hakeem Ologun Onikoyi Dickson is an Awori Prince from Itireland and Onikoyi Kingdom, he was born on the 5th of May 1957.
He attended Breadfruit primary School in Lagos island and then transferred to Surulere baptist school when his parents relocated due to the construction of Eko bridge which affected the Dickson's family house. He completed his primary education, gaining his first leaving school certificate in 1972.
Hakeem Dickson attended Victory High School in Ikeja, and his West African School Certificate in 1976.
Hakeem Dickson earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Thomas A. Edison State College in Trenton, New Jersey. he had a master's degree in Business Administration, and another master’s in Accounting and Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, New Jersey, in 1983 and 1985, respectively.
Upon completion of his National Youth Service program in Nigerian Airways in 1984, Hakeem Dickson started his career at Coopers and Lybrand CPA, Newark, New Jersey, in 1988 as a staff accountant, external auditor, and tax adviser.
Hakeem Dickson then returned to Nigeria to contest and win an election as the Executive Chairman of the Surulere Local Government in 1998. Afterwards, he was Director General for the Lagos State Safety Commission until 2018.
Dickson’s strengths are his ability to plan and counterplan, as well as his ability to take calculable risks and invest in people. Hakeem Dickson has been praised as an excellent manager of people and properties and an excellent innovator who came up with the blueprints of some of the structures that exist in Lagos today.

AGENDA #1 - Freedom and Restoration
● Free from Autocratic rule, which is eminent within the Lagos State Government
● Settlement of all victims of the #EndSARS crises
● Implementation of the Supreme Court’s ruling to compensate people whose lands were taken by the state government
● Ensuring Local Government autonomy and dissolution of the joint account system
● Scrapping the payment of toll-gate fee within Lagos State.
AGENDA #2- Health, Safety and Environment
● Action against climate change and global warming
● Creation and implementation of flooding prevention plans
● Health care development and foreign partnerships
● Medical reforms and mental health awareness
● Implementation of Vision Zero
● Safety in design with facility management systems in mind
● Awareness on ISO Certification
● 24 hours emergency response service in all local government areas.
AGENDA #3- Security, Finance, and Insurance
● Fight crime, cultism, robbery, and ethnic clashes in Lagos
● The introduction of 24 hours park, campus, local government, state, senatorial policing
● Judicial reforms
● Compulsory insurance in all building and tall building management
● Tax reforms
● Small- and medium-scale business empowerment
● Financial and business empowerment for persons living with (special) diasbilities
