Women In Mining (WIM), Nigeria Held Annual Two Days Conference And Exhibition In Lagos
During the interview with Mrs Mercy Ishaku Bassi, One of the leaders from Plateau state chapter.
She expressed her happiness about the successful gathering and her experience meeting other women in mining industry and also the great achievements made.
When asked by the press, if the group was sponsored by the government of Plateau state.
She replied, “The state government was initially not aware of Women In Mining(WIM) but when the government learnt of the group, they have been supportive ever since”.

She joyfully told the press of the tremendous support the Governor of Plateau state, Simon Bako Lalong has given (WIM).
She mentioned that (WIM) Plateau chapter will give feedback on their experience to the Plateau government and discuss what is needed for greater height.
Mrs Mercy Ishaku Bassi briefly explained the mining business as an industry that mine earth minerals like limestone, salt, columbite, clays, gemstones used in the jewelry industry,etc.

Mrs Mercy Ishaku Bassi advices women to wake up and fight for their course. She clamored that the mining business does not belong to the men alone and that they feel suppressed by men in the mining industry.
