SYMPATHY VISIT TO AKERE FIRE VICTIMS, OHANEZE NDI IGBO DEMANDS COMPENSATION.
President of ohaneze Ndi igbo Lagos chapter chief Sunday Ossai visited the igbo traders of Akere Motor Parts & Allied Dealers Association, (AMPADA) whose shops was razed down completely by fire at akere market Ajegunle area of Lagos .
The visit was commendable as other igbo leaders were present . President of United Kingdom And Ireland , Chief Lady Aqueen Ibeto ( Adabuzo Ndigbo), Chief Janefrancis C Okoro (Adaoyoyo), Ohaneze woman leader Lagos chapter, Chief Barrister Nkechi Agubuzo , fommer deputy woman leader of Ohaneze Lagos state were also present at the time of visitation.
The chairman of Akere igbo spare parts dealers , Mr Ubah izuchukwu expressed his sadness over the fire incident as goods worths of billions of naira were burned down completely , leaving the business owners miserable and hopeless , while their families were left in abject poverty. He also expressed his joy and happiness over the coming of ohaneze president Chief. Sunday Ossai and the host of others for making out their time to sympathize with them and showing them much love in this critical period. While with the press, He showed his gratitude appreciating the Governor of Lagos state Babajide Sanwolu for coming to their rescue , urging the governor to fulfill his promise by compensatng and rebuilding their shops immediately, as this ugly incident has rendered over fourhundred families to sever hunger. The president of Ohaneze ndigbo Lagos chapter , Chief Sunday Ossai was grieved over this evil occurance , he sympathized with the Akerele igbo traders and encouraged them to remain peaceful and calm despite what has befallen them. During the interview , he said that what he met was beyond his imagination and thinking, in his speech he said that when the chairman of Akere igbo traders was explaining how the incident occurred , that he almost shared tears, because he never knew that the market was burnt down completely, according to him, this is a serious challenge in this period, considering the economic situation of the country, He also said that this fire incident was unfortunate and has rendered the victims hopeless , aggravating more hunger but at same time tanked God that no life was lost.
The Ohaneze president expressed his happiness over the coming of governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwolu, according to him , He said the governor is with us today, He has reinforced hope for the victims for better tomorrow, and has also reinforced their hope for any compensation for the victims coming from government. He urged the governor to set committee of enquiry to look into the main cause of the mayhem in order to stop the future re-occurance and also He should evaluate the damage and render compensation to the victims without delay. he further said that he trusted the governor who is very very human to do what he supposed to do.
Ohaneze woman leader Lagos chapter , Chief Mrs Janefrancis Okoro expressed her shock over the fire incident and encouraged the victims to remain calm and move on, that God in his infinite mercy will be their support , she felt so badly as a mother knowing what the families of the victims will be facing in this critical situation. She tanked the governor for coming to their rescue and also plead with the governor to fulfill his promise by compensating the victims shortly to enable them go back to their business, she prayed to God to restore them quickly.
The Ohaneze president of United Kingdom , Chief Lady Aqueen Ibeto came down to witness the incident and also sympathize with the Igbo brothers whose shops were razed down completely by fire, according to her it doesn’t matter how many times one may fall , what matters is rising back to your feet, she expressed heavy sadness over the incident and thank God for keeping their life. She advised the victims to have hope , remain calm and peaceful. She sympathized with the family of the victims whom have been thrown into confusion, hunger , making life too difficult for them , she urged the government to come to their rescue now , calling other tribes to be their support stressing that Nigeria is one. She said that the governor who she knows well will surely do the needful without delay. She also came with the team of medical doctors to make sure the victims are medically sound and also promised to help financially.
Chief Barrister Nkechi Agubuzo condemned the attack on Akere igbo traders stressing that the incident was barbaric. She advised the victims not to retaliate but be calm and peaceful, move together in unity and speak with one voice. She pleaded with governor of Lagos state Babajide Sanwolu to come to their aid and assist them immediately She tanked the governor for coming. And also encourage the victims that ohaneze will always support the igbos in this kind of crises.
Barrister Oliver Eze , The legal adviser to AMPADA) condemned the fire incident on the Akere Motor Parts dealers . He call on President Buhari to come to their rescue , when he was explaining how the incident happened , he was so grieved over what the fire incident has caused to over four hundred families . He called on NEMA to come to their rescue by sending relief materials to the fire victims , he also called on Lagos state governor,Babajide Sanwolu to treat the matter with urgency , pleading that the victims should treat with fairness by leaving the few remaining shop for them to stay until the new ones are completed.
Mrs Njideka Eze the president of Noble ladies international express her sadness over the fire incident stressing that any woman among the fire victims or the wives of the fire victims should join associations like this Incase of such occurance so that they can get help in one way or the other.
