UBA Group Lights Up Marina as 2025 Yuletide Season Begins
The United Bank of Africa (UBA) began it's 2025 Christmas celebrations with a vibrant light up ceremony at the Lagos Marina.
Thousand of festive light and exciting carols light up the waterfront. This annual tradition is celebrated in all 24 countries where UBA operates.
The Group Managing Director and CEO Oliver Alawuba led the colourful ceremony, joined by the deputy managing directors, senior executives, and esteemed customers.
The event kicked off with lively performances from the UBA CFC Choir and the Lagos Community Gospel Choir, creating a joyful atmosphere.
In his speech, Alawuba mentioned that they light up rholds deep meaning, it's more than just colorful display. It's really special to the bank, it's customers, and the communities it serves.
He explained it that the event stands for joy, love, hope and the start of a season filled with warmth and togetherness.
“We are light to the world, creating an atmosphere of hope, joy, and shared love,” he stated. “Today officially marks the start of the Christmas season for us, a time that inspires giving and kindness.”
Alawuba also pointed out that the ceremony signals the beginning of the bank’s annual charitable activities in its host communities.
“Christmas is about sharing gifts, showing love, and extending kindness. As we start this season, UBA will continue to reach out to the people who have supported us throughout the year,” he added.
